The Diamondback 500Sr is an investment in my own health that has exceeded my expectations. My resting pulse has gone down to 70, my cardio endurance has improved, and I have less early fatigue. Also, I am shedding pounds of fat. The bike is overall well made. The only things I wish were better was the console embedded fan and the seat bottom. The fan is meager and the seat could be a little more generously upholstered. I like the bike’s console layout with the various readouts. It has 16 resistance levels that will challenge your fitness ambitions. With consistent use, I am meeting my own goals of weight loss and cardio improvement. Recumbents are easy on the low back, hips, and knees in case you wanted to know.

Before I bought this bike I did a lot of research on the Schwinn 230. I was getting ready to buy it and decided to go to Sears to check it out. My first impression of the Swchinn is that it looked cheap. I rode it for awhile and was not impressed. I decided to look elsewhere.
I decided to go with the Diamondback 500SR. With nowhere to test this bike I took my chances. At only $399 I figured it would also be pretty cheap looking and feeling, but it was worth a shot.
It arrived in a large box. I was worried when I opened it that I would find hundreds of pieces to put together. To my surprise there were only about ten pieces that I needed to put together.
It took me less than an hour to put together. I only got stumped a couple of times. The directions were asking for screws that we’re not in the hardware kit. It turned out that they were already screwed in where they were supposed to go. I just needed to unscrew them, align the part and then screw it back in. It was very easy to put together.
The bike and display look better than the Schwinn’s, in my opinion. It rides about the same.
I was looking for a recumbent bike because of some major lower back problems that I have. This bike is very comfortable. The adjustments on the seat back give me the support that I need.
The only issue I do have is the fan. Give me a break. If you’re going to spend time on designing a bike with a fan on it make sure it displaces measureable air.
I have a gym at work with a couple expensive recumbent bikes. The Diamondback bike cannot compare to these. You do get what you pay for. However, for $399 I’m happy with my purchase.

I bought the recumbent bike because my wife has serious back problems. She loves the bike and uses it almost everyday. The upright bike hurt her back so bad, the pain lasted many times all day and night. The recumbent helps her back and eases pain. The quality of the Diamondback is equal to many brands that sell for two to four times the price. The back and seat pads are as good and comfortable as those used in gyms and easy adjustments a fit for anyone. I highly recommend the Diamondback 500Sr.

For the price I paid ($399. w/free shipping) I think I purchased the best exercise bike available.
The assembly was the only part of the deal that could be somewhat improved. I think the size of the illustrations in the booklet are a little small, and I did need to go to the hardware store for additional bolts.
Now that everything’s up and running, the bike is running like a top. I recommend this bike to anyone wanting a well priced exercise bike with true quality.

I was very excited on receiving my Diamondback exercise bike. I used it for a couple of weeks and loved it. Then all of a sudden it started making a loud noise very time I peddled. After reading my manual and trying to get information regarding possible repair I was suprised to find out that because i bought thru Amazon my warranty on the exercise bike was invalid. Since i was under my 30 days i made the decision to return the bike because it was defective. I which that i can replace with another one, but i don’t want to have an item that has no warranty. I will have to look elsewhere for my future purchase.
